So what is the final verdict on this problem....?

So why does the Apex'i AVC-R randomly suck air in the vented hole on the solenoid, making a machine gun type noise? I don't feel and effects of this, the noise just gets annoying.

I have seen many threads regarding this issue, but have never really gotten a solid answer.

Oh yea, my car runs perfectly. Thanks clayne.

Well it ends up you were right the first time about the FPR vacuum line. But it wasn't that it wasn't connected. It was that the nipple I connected it to was one of the 4 in a row under the UIM. I later realized that this doesn't go into the manifold, but rather goes straight through to the other side. It was in plain site and I just didn't think about it that way. Now I have it hooked to a "REAL" source of vacuum and it runs flawlessly. All this was after a massive unflooding of the car, and I mean massive.

Thanks again,
M-P

That's great to hear man. It's always awesome when the fix is something stupid that's fully fixable and actually has an understandable reason for it's behaviour. Your FPR was 100% regulating there.

Haha yea I can vow for the 100% regulating because of how much fuel I had to unflood from the engine
