Since searching is messed up....

I'm planning on removing my air pump but can't seem to find info on routing the serpentine belt. Do I just shorten to about a 30" or 30 1/2" belt and have it only touch about 1/6th of the water pump pulley, or am I supposed to go a bit longer and have the water pump spin the opposite direction?

Don't do it half-assed. Get a pulley kit:

Are these pulleys the same size as stock or different? If so, how much larger or smaller are the pulleys than the stock one?

The pulley is larger. The problem is that without the airpump in place, the contact with the waterpump pulley is less and can slip at higher RPM's. The Greddy pulley kit enlarges the alternator pulley to allow better contact with the waterpump pulley and reduce the chance of the belt slipping.
