She wont start.....Help

So, the cars been off the road since march 06, ive been starting the car every so often (every 3 weeks). Its been starting fine since i took the car off the road no probs. Anyway i started the car today and it ran ruff and struggling to hold a decent idle, then cut out after around 2-3mins.

Im thinking the gas has gone off but not sure. Tryed pulling the EGI fuse and turning it over incase i flooded it alittle just to try and get rid of the eccess fuel, then replaced and tryed to start it again. It nearly fired up until it banged a few times and this is all it would do until the battery died on me.

Im running a GT35r turbo with bosch ful pump, 1600cc secondary injector ETC, ETC....

My next move to fixing this would be draining the tank of gas, flushing the tank and replacing the fuel filter. Is there any thing else i need to do before or after ive done this???

You need to do a full unflood... that egi fuse thing dont work that well,, pull all 4 spark plugs and dry em out then pull the EGI and crank out all the fuel out the spark plugs (you will see how much crap comes out) then you can add a couple of ml of oil into both bottom spark plug holes, turn the engine over manually several complete revolutions using a socket on the alternator to move the oil around the seals. Fire back in the spark plugs and make sure all the wires are on the correct plugs (and hey presto,,, i bet it works)

Once you get the battery charged, try getting something like WD-40 and squirting it into the nipples on the UIM that will let it drip down into the LIM. See if that will fire the car up.

Makes no difference mate its only to move the oil over the housing to make the seals seal better. (i use a syringe with no needle just squirt like 2ml of engine oil in both the bottom 2 plug holes) by the way when it starts its gonna smoke a little because of the oil)

Just wondering if its possible to stick a octane booster in to save messing around draining and flushing the tank? Im just guessing the fuel only losses the octane or does it actually go like syrup?

Fuel takes ages to loose its octane value (ive had fuel sat in cars for 2 years and it be ok,,,, ok that i mean it starts the car and you can drive it,,, i wouldnt start boosting it without a fresh tank). When you been starting the car have you been letting it warm up fully because rx7s dont like been run for short periods over and over (i hear this is a common flooding scenario)

I would change the oil as suggested-could probably wait until it started and warmed up just to get it all out. You may not need to drain the gas but do not run it hard just burn it up - you can as a precaution if you feel its gone bad. You can also throw in a can of dry gas which would help with any moisture in the fuel. If the fuel filter is old change it. New plugs will also help the effort along. You do need to unflood it as indicated

I started mine after sitting for a month, fired right up but it died when I put it in gear after letting the motor run for 5-10 min. I couldn't get it to fire up, cranked the starter with the pump disconnected, petal to the floor, waited an hour, did a search on deflooding, and finally decided to clean the plugs. I get the rear trailing and leading ones, then go to pull the trailing plug wire for the front and WTF- It's barely attached! I reconnect it and check the plug wire for the other and it's loose as well. It fired up and ran with no more problems. I didn't pull them loose! Wierd...

so you pull the plugs and crank it over?
ok so do the plug wiers still produce a spark while they are jsut hanging there?
and how do you remember which wier goes where
do you have to put oil in the leading holes to get it to start?
