Set up trouble
I have a APEXi SAFC S-AFC 2 and I have a 3rd gen. I am not new to fuel injection or electrical systems.
The system is setup and reading data etc. I can't seem to get the unit to take and implement the corrections. I have asked in other sections and a few people have responded but really have not been able to solve the problem. You guys use this unit and all I want to do is lean out the idle section. I can set the corrections and I cycle the key off and have tried also unplugging the unit from its harness but I can't get it to apply the corrections. I also set the rev limiter to 3K and it does not react but I see a rpm over 3K. If the unit is defective I hope some one can confirm this with a little help. Thanks guys.

ok... on the third gen, you are using the MAP sensor for your correction factor Right????
I'm a little confused... on my SAFCII, once you moved one of the sliders on the enricment curve, it stayed that way unless you reset the unit. You didn't have to hit confirm or anything..
How do you have it set up under the "initial settings" part. you know where you select the car type, and cyliders and flapper..
if you turn the car off, and the settings go back to factory... sonething is not kosher with the wiring or the backup battery in the SAFC is shot.
Did you try resetting the adjustment points... when i got mine the lowest adjustment point was like 1600 RPM the safc may not be making any correction if your idle is to far below the lowest point on the SAFCII.... if all you want to do is idle.... i'd set the lowest three points on the fuel curve to like 600,800 and 1000, dip the curve down at these ranges and leave the rest of it flatlined.

Thank you for responding, the guys in the 3rd gen area and the pfc area don't reply much. Since this unit is used by the 2nd gen I posted it here. I will need to look at the battery backup area. It does not have a backup because it uses a Eprom design but I will anyway. I will look into the back up opperation. Thanks again. PS the unit will show data but shows no correction after setting and confirming thats the only thing which wont work.
