Serious problem PLEASSSSEEEEE help. (oil pressure)

Ok this has been a 2 week problem. Ever since i ran the car hard against this 500hp evo I noticed a drop in my oil pressure. Not taking any chances with the motor I was wondering WTF is happening. So i decided to take the easy route and replaced the regulator, which meant i had to take off the oil pan and get under the car to get to the regulator. Replaced both and the oil pressure was still dropping.

**** what should i do. so i went the hard route and took apart the motor and hoped it was one of the seal. Replaced one of the front seal, put the motor back together and still Pissing me off.

I am thinking about replacing the oil pump but if anyone has had this problem please give me some advice cause i canT really PLAY with the car while this problem persist

How are you monitoring oil pressure?

of course its higher when you first start it up because the oil is real thick when its cold. and is harder to push, when it warms up, it flow smoother, thats y ur suppose to warm your car up. hence the pressure drops after several minutes if the engine running. now if the oil is constantly dropping you have another problem, maybe something went wrong with ur turbo when you raced that guy, and now ur turbo is eating oil. or one of the other seals. but if it was a seal. ur car would have blue smoke down the street from it when you start it.

Most of our cars with original oil pressure senders show low pressure (or no pressure) at idle once warmed up. Many times, cleaning to sender will fix the problem.

Going back to the OP, what exactly do you mean by dropping? Explain the behavior in detail please.

YOUR AT IDLE or crusing and the oil pressure is ok. Once you hit on it like rev at a high rpm (6000 or higher) then the oil pressure drops alot

2 things:
one could be the oil. What weight are you running? Steve kan came here and phil was running 10w30 and his oil started to get really thin and his oil pressure dropped badly when he would hit boost(like 60 at full throttle). We changed the oil to 20w50 and problem solved. Steve kan told us that he reccommends running 20w50 all the time, winter or not.

Two: Spun bering in the motor

Ovbesouly change the oil to a higher weight and see what happens. Most likely thats what it is.

always 20w50.. maybe i should go with the 50 consider the hot weather here.

two. pulled the motor out and opened completely and only the front seal was the problem

oh and the car running on 83c all day so when its start up its the same problem.

Once i found out the problem ill give a heads up just in case the same problem occurs to you guys.

BTW steve kan recommend me to replace the oil pressure stock sending units

Lightbulb I had a similar problem: oil pump

Hey man, I had some similar oil pressure issues too. The pressure would actually drop if you held revs constant. My buddy tried everything to fix it. He checked the oil pump and it appeared to be a bit worn. Took it out and replaced it... everything is back to normal Good luck.

If you are still running the stock sending unit, that may be the only problem. They often fail and give wierd readings. Replace it before you go crazy on anything else.
