Hmmm his logic is sound.

Speak to str8ryd. He did the conversion and did an excellent job of it. Personally, I think it's a total waste for you to do the conversion just because you have a new carpet. I mean...Wow. You must have some deep pockets. You might as well just buy a RHD car even if there is a chance of it getting impounded.

I want to be able to say i built the car myself. I always wanted a perfect condition rx7. And if i build it from the ground up i know i will have that perfect car. I finally have the job that allows me to do it so im just takin the bull by the horns nd getting it done. Thanks alot though supernaut il give him a shout hopefully he can help me out.

So you're saying the car is currently just a shell/roller? Or are you going to be removing all the standard LHD interior and other parts and then replace them with a RHD?

Yes its a roller. I bought every single interior piece brand new nd i wanted the carpet to.match so i bought the rhd carpet. I dont want any holes like from the fuel door latch so il just go ahead and just make the car that much sicker. I cant cut any corners.

IMO with the money your going to spend why not but a LHD carpet from someone parting out a car and use the extra money you would have spent and put a 20B in or build an amazing 13B.

Off the top of my head guessing

Door cards
Complete Dash
Center console
Complete wiring harness for the whole car including engine harness
Heater assy
Brake lines, clutch lines, water lines (for the whole car front to back)
ABS mounting bracket
Wiper assy and wipers
Jap spec downpipe if running the twins.

You could get away with joining the LHD brake lines to the existing RHD lines, but if you want to perfect, i reckon you'll need the whole cars brake lines.

Basically, you need to find a complete rhd car. Any sane person would just do that car up instead unless a ton of money has already been poured into the LHD car. A LOT of work ahead if you do go ahead and convert.

il just get a jdm half clip. im going to eliminate abs and il make my own brake lines so that wont be a problem. i got the greddy t78 turbo kit so i dont got to worry about that either. i just need the entire wiring harness i guess. i thought i would be able to get away with the dash harness and thats it. but well see what happends. im sure i can get a harness. theres alot more jdm rx7's then usdm.

JDM dash and USDM rear body harnesses doesn't stack up actually. Fuses and relays are located in opposite sites so basically all the wires to the rear end run in somewhat different route, connector pinout's are also different. And more to this some of the wires connecting front harness and rear run through dash harness.

I had some joy in comparing JDM and USDM wiring harnesses when doing my H11 ABS swap.
Adopting JDM harness would be really difficult.

Knowing that I would also recommend another RHD car, or you could make custom dash harness which in a long term would less PITA.

Yup, Which is why i said he needs the whole car's wiring and not just the front end. My fd is a typeR jap import and sitting in the car, the ecu is on the left, fusebox on the right.

Just flip the carpet inside out and it's a LHD carpet

Let me get your logic straight....

LHD carpet can not be found...Purchase RHD carpet and refit the ENTIRE CAR to match.

Wow now that I've written it out and read over it, it makes complete sense. Good luck!

Cutting corners is different then taking a dirt path that leads to a cliff into a pit of despair.

How do you associate cutting corners with buying the wrong carpet and then changing the entire car to match? Not sure what you're trying to prove by saying you built the car yourself or converted it to RHD. But hey it's your time and your money if you want to waste massive amounts of both, go for it.
