I guys, I searched and couldn't find much, but when I down shift into second, I get a rattling sound when I release the cluth. My second gear and notchy but doesn't need a syncro or anything, i'm not really sure to what it is... any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
i had problems last winter with my last fd now i have problems again with my new one. i duno, i think maybe its just the months of october-may nomater were you are at
Hahaha, could be! Have you ever had a really bad noise when going fron 4th to 3rd and released the cluth... I do at the moment... its a different issue to the second gear thing because this one you can hear inside the car.. its like a Drrrrrrrr sort of thing lol... ever had a similar problem? My drive shaft is leaking at the moment, i'm hoping fixing that, giving it a good clean (its covered in who knows what) will fix it. But about the second gear issue, I think it could be the gear box or something.
might just be low on fluid, i just get grinding when getting on it and shifting into second or into 4th. but thats just syncros. lol all my problems involve motor and electical shorts that involve horrible shacking and lights dimming when i hit the brakes. (two unrelated problems) lol im ready to just throw in an ls2 and rewire the front half of the car.
I get a rattling when I take off in first, and when I down shift to second gear... sounds like its coming from the front of the gear box or in that area sort of thing... anyone!? Any ideas?
Rattling suggests throwout bearing. The 'grrrrr' suggests you're grinding your shift some.
Take it to a good transmission shop and have them test drive it. (Remind them it's a pull type clutch, fwiw) and they will give you a much better diagnosis. Unfortunately any kind of repair involves removing the whole tranny.
