Quick Question...

Now I'm not an FD owner but none the less this still baffles me...

What the heck are those plastic tube/pipe things running along the bottom of the hatch(pictured)???

I gathered that they are for the sound system, but what purpose they serve is beyond me.

They come with the Bose Acoustic system... basically in all Bose's systems they use artificial bass (small woofer run through a long tube) to give it a big low sound.

BS if you ask me.... your better off putting in a 8" woofer youself. Takes up a enormous amount of room in the hatch.

It deals with how the sound waves travel I think for better bass in the hatch area.

the longer the tube... the lower the sound... you get a very boomy sound.... unlike a open air or boxed sub which is alota punchier..... it basically works the same way as a bandpass box... uses a tube or enclosed area for more air movement.

for example.... shoot a gun in open air and its going to be loud........ shoot a gun in a tunnel and its going to be really loud.
