Question on Idle Air Control Valve

Do I need to take the u.i.m. off to repalce this?I checked in the manual and it's not specific.My freaking idle is so bad when I shift push in the clutch.It will stall If I dont shift quick enough.Thanks for the help.

when I start it around 1500 when warm 1000.if I tap on the gas when engine is warm it would also stall.

Yeah, the ISC is under the upper intake manifold. Sounds like you need to read up on idle stuff - the 1000 RPM warm idle is high as well.

actually the idle speed controller is on the rear of the UIM behind the throttle body. It is just after the TPS - throttle position sensor. You can reach it without unbolting the UIM. 2 10mm nuts unbolts it.

I don't think the ISC is the cause of your your car stalling, but you can test it by checking the voltage reading on it after you unbolt it. The volts are in the factory service manual.

im having the same problem too. i heard that replacing the clutch switch would fix it. well i bought one and no luck for me so far. but after i messed with my solenoid by the throttle body i got to where i can rev up and it wont stall, but still experiencing the bog down and stalls when driving. my friend told me to check the ISC and that it might need cleaning. any luck on finding a sloution?
