Question about excessive smoke from exhaust

So I started the car up, let it run to warm up because I was having some problems with the tach not working/randomly working and wanted to see what exactly it was doing. Then, I pulled the car back in the garage and turned off the car. There was white smoke coming out of the exhaust for about 2-3 minutes after the car was turned off. I was wondering what this was? My guess is that it's burning oil? Any ideas?

Also, anybody's tach ever randomly stop working and then work again?

most likely condensation. if your coolant seals were really bad, it would be like a smoke screen.

Thanks for the help guys! There's no real way to tell if the coolant seals are bad without tearing down the engine, right?

Also, anyone know what the legendary Demetrios Karagiannis' username is? If so, PM me...he's practically my neighbor (I think it's something like rotary_de or something, but it's not coming up in the search)

You can do the champagne test.

But you live in MD. Its COLD now so i mostly believe its condensation.

My car smokes for like 5 minutes cause its been 30s this entire week. If i drive the car 5-10 minutes, then the smoke goes away.

And if the car is off and you see smoke, that has nothing to do with the engine since the car is already off. Unless there is a fire somewhere or you see a smoke screen, thats just steam basically.

Thanks again for the help, didn't even know about the champagne test until now. Searched and found videos of it, too. Very helpful!

should smoke when u first start it but it should go away after its warmed up.. mine does
