power steering "dies" when going lock to lock.

ie, doing quick tight figure eights. it's been a problem for a while but since i don't really go to figure eights unless i'm trying to throw the car into some donuts, it doesn't come up much.

once i turn back to straight from, say, right, the power steering apparently dies once i start turning left.

also, it might be normal but if i spin out the wheel can snap itself around with a pretty wild force. (enough to possibly break a thumb if you are so unlucky)

low PS fluid? i could swear i was at the correct level, ill check again when i wake up.

That or the tention of the belt might not be tight enough.. Might be slipping?
