picking up a rx7 soon.

ive decided to sell my 99 eclipse gsx so i can buy 1 of my dream cars 93+ rx7

question is ive been out of the rotary game for awhile now, i used to own a 2005 rx-8, but i kinda forget what to look for when buying a used rotary.. any help would be greatly appriciated!

and what year/ model is the best? touring? r1 ?

i've been a dsm nerd for a while and found that nothing drives like an FD;
my most fav as been the R1 models.

even though the awd drag car is much faster (in a straight line) it doesn't drive anywhere near the FD and i love the stiffer suspension, ride height, etc etc... too much to list.

how do the manuals compare to the autos?
are they as fast as each other or do the manuals come out on top with these cars?
