oil pressure light or oil level light?
The light on my stock oil pressure sensor gauge was coming on and off the other day, it would stay on for about 4 seconds and then turn back of and only when I would be cruising at like 2.3K at a constand speed in like 4th gear (happened in third gear too) But it never happened when pushing the car at all just while cruising at a constant speed. It didn't make any sense to me because I KNEW that my oil level was full (I also checked my oil level later when I got home and it was full) and the oil pressure gauge wasn't too low of too high when driving (or ever for that matter). When I searched about this I THINK what is correct is that the light is just for oil level. Is that correct? Either way could the sensor just be going bad I have heard that they crap out all the time but I am still concerned, any advice on what to check or anything would be appreciated, thanks.

well am I over looking something, like is there something that could be wrong with the car I am not seeing, or does this sound like it's just the gauge messing up, I do know that I am not low on oil but if the gauge is messing up then I supose I could have a higher/lower oil pressure than it is actually showing, could that be why the light is coming on? But I was under the impression that the light only comes on if you are low on oil??

It is for oil level , take the sender out ( three 10mm bolts ) and clean it . See if the float moves freely on the two pins and the contacts are clean . Put it back with a good O- ring so it will not leak . Also check the wire connection joints .
