managed to smash the glass in the mirror today so not impressed!

all i want to know is:

is the actual mirror a universal shape and size, i.e widely available, or is it mazda specific????

Go to a glass shop, look in yellow pages under mirrors or glass. They can outline the opposite mirror w pencil and paper and cut the mirror upside down to obtain the correct shape. They'll even glue it for ya!

 

The glass can be purchased directly from Mazda.
