Heya , Im Paul from Myrtle Beach SC, I recently purchased a 93 black TT Touring RX7. I have started the modding process by ordering a HKS Catback exhaust , downpipe and midpipe . I also ordered a factory wing and new leather for the interior. I got the car for a steal so I figured what the heck Ill mod it out . Im ordering an apexi power fc tommorrow .

The car has 95k miles on it , but the previous owner, ( 1 owner car) Said that he had the motor replaced at 60k miles at the dealer because of some or other problem. I picked it up for $5500 runs great Ill try and upload a pic , you can see how good a shape its in.

Welcome. Hope you read the stickies and searched a bit so that you know what you are getting into with the full open exhaust. Along with the Power Fc, you need to look for a tuner to tune the thing. I'd probably check your compression too so that you know the health of the engine before blowing all your money on mods to a beat engine. Good luck, search lots and read up.

Yep its a clean title car, Do you guys think I should just go with the cat back and downpipe and leave the stock cat for some restriction? The Power FC is a must is what someone here told me for the increased fuel to prevent detonation and possible motor damage with the increased airflow of the exhaust right>?

Good buy and welcome !
Leave the main cat on for now. It will save you some trouble.
Also add boost gauge and boost controller to you shopping list.
Replace plugs and all fluids. Then have some fun.

Like with most specialty vehicles this car isnt for everyone, you have to search out the right buyer. I always watch them on ebay and most times they do fetch decent money. Heck the NADA value on mine even with 95k miles is still strong with 13500 retail and 10k loan.

That's correct. This is never said, but IMO, the PFC should be included with the "reliability mods". Tuned properly it staves off detonation, and it can be used to turn your fans on at a lower temperature - detonation and heat are a rotary engine's biggest killers.

It is a setting in the PowerFC. You don't need a Datalogit, but you do need a Commander. Search through the Power FC forum for an answer. Its gotta be in there somewhere.
