NEW.. buying an RX7, what should I know, how should I mod..
I'm selling my E36 M3, estoril blue.. awesome car, safe, reliable as hell, beautiful handling, and its got some style, but it isn't very fast. Before I spend any more money on it, I'm going to start saving up and get a lot more bang for the buck by putting the $$ into mods for an rx7. I'm sick of rolling up to meets and becoming invisible instantly, or running into rednecks in just about any domestic with simple bolt-ons and getting owned.

This is the car I'm looking at..
1993 R1 twin turbo, 6k miles on Mazda remanufactured motor, 8k miles on Mazda red respray, 5 speed, mild mods, garage kept, clean PA title, inspected till 3/05. Mods include: HKS downpipe, Blitz stainless catback, K&N panel filter in stock drilled airbox, engine torque brace, silicon vacuum hoses, aluminum AST, Koni struts with Eibach springs, Autometer guages (water and oil temp in center speaker pod, boost and A/F in A-pillar), black Efini badges. Oil changed regiliously every 2k miles with GTX and OEM Mazda filter, ATE Superblue brake fluid, radiator flushed yearly, Redline synthetics in differential and trans, fresh OEM plugs and fuel filter 99-look taillights. Very well kept car, owner is "rotary knowledgeable" and this car never saw rain or foul weather. Sale will include set of brand new front and rear Hawk HP-Street brake pads for free, and available brand new Yokohama AVS ES100 245/45/16 tires for $200 (retail $400). Phone or email contact with any other questions is welcomed, and price is OBO. Exterior: 9 out of 10. Interior: 8.5 out of 10 (typical 93 console peeling). Perfect chance to own a near-stock RX7 that is well taken care of, with a new motor and fresh paint.
I hope they put a clear coat on when they re-sprayed it.
At 15 even I think it's a good deal. I will have 5k to spend on mods the second I get the car (after selling the ///M.)
I'm looking at doing a single turbo conversion, any thought on that? What shoud I run with a basic single turbo system, what kind of power can I put to the wheels?
As far as visuals go, I'd like to gt a C-West front end.. unless something else really sticks out at me. Is there a very unique/mean looking kit out there that isn't too expensive? If so, clue me in.
Also, where is the best online store to get stuff at?

going single is a good idea....eventually. Drive the car first learn how it handles and what not. Don't just jump right into it. There are plenty of other reliability mods that should be done first. A simple search will bring them up for you to read. People say search because there are a lot of un-needed threads that could have been found by an easy search. As far as body kits go, It's a waste of money at your stage. Invest in some other things first. The stock body lines of the car are beautiful enough. Thats just my opinion though. How old are you if you don't mind me asking too? Some great online shops are www.rotaryextreme.com for one and www.gothamracing.com .

Can I do a conversion and put my H1 HIDS in the lower light housing? I'm guessing it's the parking light/turn signal housing. It wouldn't be too hard to put an ellipsoid in there and a small reflector for the turn signals (I plan on snipping the parking light leads if the car uses 1 ground and 2 positives.. one for turn signal/one for parking lights like my M3 did.)
