Need help and advice.

Guys,

My car for the last month has been having a few problems. The car wont start again. I have power to my windows, lights, radio and basically everything else. Whenever I try to turn the car over all I get is a click and nothing else. I have already had the guys at Rotary Performance fix or should I say attempt to fix. I have replaced the starter, starter relay, and battery terminals as well as the battery and battery terminal cables. It will work for a few days and then the problem returns. Does anyone know what this could be or any advice on what to do?

This is a great car and it is just frustrating the crap out of me right now. I will be selling the car I think because I cant afford to keep this up without the use of a vehicle. My car has 124k on it with 18k on the new motor. All of my mods are in my sig. Im gonna get my headlight covers repainted as well get new carpet, suspension fixed, and a few interior items fixed. What do you think my car would be worth. I want to try to get at least 15k if not more do you think it could happen. Let me know. Thanks.

It takes very little power to run the radio and lights compared to the amount of power required to turn the engine over. Have you checked your alternator? It sounds to me like thats not charging the battery very well, so it's slowing losing charge, and eventually doesn't have enough power to turn the engine over.

Yeah, check the alternator like 911gt2 said. A click could mean that you don't have enough amps in your battery to turn the starter.

I was chasing down battery issues for over six months. It turned out that all I needed was new batery terminals& grounds. Another time my car was not starting after sitting in the garage over night. It turned out that my battery was toast, literally. Hawker mini batteries don't last very long under the hot hood.

You can take car to a shop and have them check the alternator. They can see if the car is putting out 14v while running. If that's not it it. You might want to fully charge your battery and then hook up a volt meter that can measure miliampsheck to see if your car is drawing current while the key is off. Then start pulling fuses to see if where the current is being drawn, then trouble shoot from there. Did you recently install ant new electronics? An amp may be left on. Or you have a short somewhere.

I'm betting that your alternator is going or gone and or battery...

Good luck.

ill look into the alternator but the battery is also replaced so i know its fully charged. The car is not going down due to bills its going away because I getting irritated with all the stupid problems it is having and yes I know what everyone will say about its 10 years old and you knew about the inconsistency of the rotary. I know these things and now it is coming back to bite my *** and im sick of it.

check this thread. on page two CRX7 says that he fixed his starting issue by adjusting something with the clutch switch... his symptoms were identical to yours .

Moehler thanks Ill look into that Im getting the car over to the guys at Gotham Racing to see if they can see what might be wrong. I appreciate all of the help. After talking to Rich at Gotham he convinced me that I should keep the car and so now Im saving all of my money for a daily driver. Anybody got like a integra or 240 they wanna get rid of? I was extremely frustrated last night so the selling point was my first thought to do.

do a voltage drop test at the starter to see if you are getting any power there. and what the draw is. you may have a slow drain as was mentioned above/\ did the car start ok for a while then start giving you the same problems? disconnect the neg terminal.

take a multi-meter set in miliamp and connect the neg cable fom the car to the positive on the meter

connect the neg on the meter to the neg on the battery

have the key out of the ignition

see what the reading is it should be below.1 amp if it is not start pulling fuses till the drain goes down.

ps check the light in the glove
