my little story about loosing and finding my headlight cover

here is my little story about loosing and finding my stock headlight cover today. i was driving on the highway today and when i got home, my passengerside headlight cover was gone. the weird thing is that I used JB weld to glue the mounting points on as well as to reinforce the other parts. apparently it some how just broke off while the headlighti was in the down/off position. i figured it was dead/gone/runover and called my mom to tell her what happened. on her way home, she told me that she noticed somehting silver and squarish on the highway. did a drive by with my brother driving and i found it and it was still somehow in good condition but in the fast lane, near the center barrier. i knew that i could not just slow down and hit my hazzards and grab it because this was right around a bend and cars are going like 60-70mph around the blind corner. i called the cops and had to wait 40mins but it was worth it. they were very nice and helped to stop/slow traffic behind me so i could saftly stop and get it. suprisingly, there was hardly any damage, just a few scrapes. idk how it did not get run over or get flung in to traffic but it some how made it out in great condition. I plan to copy both headlight covers in carbonfiber tomorrow and keep the originals in my room hehe. ill post pics later

He will make them himself. He did my brake ducts that were posted a while back. All I sent him was the stock backing plate. He drew the rest out on paper i believe. Fit almost perfectly.

I had a similar thing on a motorbike many years ago. The speedo cable came loose at the front wheel and the centre cable of it fell out on the road. I noticed the speedo not working but didn't realise why at the time. The next day I wasn't even looking for it and just noticed it on the side of the road, which was pretty lucky because it could have been anywhere along my 30km route. Anyway, I pulled over and stuck it back in and it worked from then on. It had been run over quite a few times but still worked fine.

See that kinda pisses me off because half the time I can't even find my car keys and my cigarettes on my kitchen counter. Glad you have better luck than I do.

haha i was gonna do that but traffic in hawaii is unrelenting and there is never a time when its clear (even at 2-4am, its still busy on the highway, too many people here!) also, its around a bend like i said so i could not see if it was clear to run either so it would have been fairly dangerous to do so

I have a similar story, but mine doesnt end so well.

Before I bought my car (saturday, 13th), the guy at the dealer told me that someone had tried to steal the exhaust off of my car b/c they thought it was a performace exhaust b/c it was dual tipped (what a bunch of morons we have in this world) and in trying to steal the exhaust the only thing he accomplished was knocking off one of the tips and loosening the other. At this point i have 1 loose tip on my car and the other tip in a storage bin. 2 days later i'm riding around with a friend and when i get home i notice that my other tip is gone. The next day i trace back my path from where we had rode around and i saw something laying on the road up ahead. I slowed down and picked the piece of metal up... it was my tip, and a few people thought it would be nice to act like it was a coke can and flatten it in the road..... so now i have 2 tips in my storage bin and one of them looks like a pancake..... too bad my story didnt end as well as the 2 others
