miniature temp sending units
This is a part of a console I am building which will hold a number of temp inputs. They will be digital and react with in a second or so. I was going to set up a number of temp areas but see how the cost and size of the units would clutter up the dash area. I now have found miniature units, numbers big enough to see easily but take up less than one square inch each, most of which is the number displayed. The little dot at the end of the copper wire in the picture is the temp sending unit. This unit can be in-cased in a plug etc and installed to read any temp from 0 F to 300 F and can be run on system voltage.

Super Snuggles
Where's the display?
BTW, I just noticed you taped the penny and the sensor to the top of the can and propped it up at an angle with what looks like a screwdriver. Excellent presentation.

You guys are so bad! The sensor is small was the point of the thread. Here is a picture of the sending unit installed. I hollowed out a old sending unit and placed the sending unit inside and placed some epoxy in to insulate it. The old sending units inside seal to coolant was not compromised the epoxy is there to keep the small sending unit away from anything which might damage it. The display is small and since I like to make things it's also cheep because I am as well. The basic idea is to be able to install a lot of temp units in a small area and these are the same as the high dollar ones just packaged differently. This one was designed to be used for checking A/C air discharge temps. I have a set of resistors to convert the system voltage to the voltage the units run on. I also will have them back lighted and in a pod. I will be monitoring oil, I/C, coolant, rotor housing and under hood temps some will be temps in and temps out. The area will be small but still easily viewable by the driver. Here is a pick of the basic set up. I will be using only the displays in a pod.
