manual steering conversion

Guys,

I remember reading a thread a while back about changing the steering rack from the stock P/S to a 2nd gen manual rack. I've searched more than a few times but can't seem to remember the thread.

I need to know if I have to buy new balljoints, or if I can use the current balljoints off my stock rack.

Thanks

Maybe you can't find it becuase the last person to talk about it used a vague message title like "I can't seem to find it." You are doing nothing to help search function users of the future.

Changing the rack to a 2nd gen rack is dumb. Send your rack out to Maval Gear for a true manual conversion. Unfortunately the search database appears to be missing a lot of info. Give Maval Gear a call....it will be about $280.

Thanks for the info, but I already have the 2nd gen rack sitting under my 20b. I was trying to search for an old thread, that I thought, stated I would need new ball joints.

Any info would be appreciated.
