Magnaflow Ti exhaust, anyone have one yet?

Anyone using the new Magnaflow titanium exhaust for the FD? I'm curious as to it's street price and sound. GReddy has their own Ti system in the mid-$600 range but it lacks a presilencer like the Magnaflow. Trying to stay away from N1 sound levels Any feedback appreciated.

Bump...no one? Managed to fit Rotary Extreme's Rear Diffuser Pro over my GReddy Power Extreme (had to cut) so I'll be taking the plunge into one of the two exhausts here soon. No one has any feedback on either? I know Jay Loeb has one on his car but he never starts the engine. :-)

I'd keep your greddy over magnaflow. Never heard the magnaflow ti but when you talk about performance parts, i would definately stick to greddy over magnaflow. Magnaflow to me is like what normal muffler shops, and auto part stores sell.Get something that a company put some time into developing, and is dyno and track tested. just my opion. I'd look at a diffrent brand

Actually you should go check their products out. Their Titanium exhaust (it's full titanium btw...) is just about 6lbs., made in Japan, slip fit w/ springs, hollow exhaust hangers, etc...it's basically top quality. The GReddy doesn't have a presilencer and I am not a big fan of GReddy due to the lack of customer service and overhaul parts availability here in the states. Their tech department is a joke and they're not even familiar with their own product line.

Additionally, Acosta Racing seems to prefer the Maganaflow race mufflers over the Borlas. I have an XR-1 in my midpipe which has become steadily louder over the course of a year (it's blowing out). Others have recommended the Magnaflow stuff because it has a better build quality and they don't seem to blow out as easily. In a nutshell, from what I've read and seen, Magnaflow has stepped up with a really nice product line. Ok, they sell a variety of aftermarket tips for cars and cheesy universals, but who doesn't these days? I for one try not to be a brand snob and will buy a better product from a better company especially if it's at a better price.

Magnaflow, aren't they for domestics??? lol
I currently run an ASP Exhaust (mp and cat-back in one) with a Borla XR-1 as the muffler.
If I were to upgrade, I would go with the HKS Ti racing exhaust, although only the muffler section is Ti, I think a 4" straight through exhaust would benefit my setup.

Even though the GReddy doesn't have a silencer, I would imagine it wouldn't be very loud, most GReddy exhaust are quiet even though they have large piping and canisters.
GReddy exhaust usually meet dB requirements as well.

Well I can't vouch for the Magnaflow Ti exhaust, but a friend and I put a Magnaflo SS 3" in, dual 3" out muffler on my FD and custom made 3" mandrel bent piping to the cat. and it sounds and preforms amazingly.
The muffler and tips seemed to be of very good quality, and the muffler is basically straight through and sounds awesome.

After going on the magnaflow website does sound kind of tempting. How much is it though? It looks like you got alot of money wrapped up in your car, i'd go for the best. You could be the first to get it,and tell us about it. Or get HKS TI you know it's bad ***..

I was just about to do a search on making my own catback with 3" mandrel bent piping. I wanted to know if anyone has used any of the domestic (magnaflow, dynomax, etc.) race/performance mufflers or has built their own exhaust system.

rx7tt95, I would love it if you installed this Ti muffler and posted a sound clip so we can hear what it sounds like.
Also, do you have an idea on cost?

Going to call Magnaflow (or a dealer) right now to find out on cost...any chance the RX7 store could do some sort of bulk buy on these?

Harrison, your filter went out today btw...should be there tomorrow AM (Fed Ex priority overnight). I guess I'll hear the GReddy at the BBQ, right? You are still planning on attending, no?

Ok, just called them...apparently they're not out yet and the guy said more than likely it'll be a month but to call back in two weeks. And list price is...make sure your'e sitting down....$1800.00. BUT...he also said that wasn't a realistic street price and many things have yet to be determined in terms of pricing. Looks like I'll be ordering a GReddy from the RX7 Store!

Since you had the Power Extreme, does the titanium version sit in pretty much the same place or does it exit at an angle? What's the approximate size difference of the canister? About 1/3 smaller? I'll have to take a pic of your car's rear and my car's rear to compare on Saturday.

I also contacted magnaflow...here is what they said

"Yes, a system will be available for the 93-95 RX-7 very shortly. They will be ready to ship within the next two weeks, possibly sooner. The part number for it is 16804, and list price is $1792.00. A dealer will be able to give you a more realistic selling price when they become available. The production dept. has not yet given us here in sales the final specs, but they will be available soon."

That's pretty much what they said to me but not that it would definitely be available in two weeks. They said "maybe" a month but to call back in two weeks.

Haven't bothered to call back, been too busy w/ turbo stuff. I do know that there are several other Ti and partial Ti exhausts on the market. GReddy full Ti, JIC full Ti, Tanabe partial Ti, Gotham Racing partial Ti, etc....
