Links on engine removal (1993)
Hello everybody!
So now it was my time to remove the engine on my beloved RX-7! And I'm searching for all the useful details and resources I can find on engine removal from the 1993 FD3S.
I have virtually no experience with this before.
I will not do the rebuilding myself but I need to strip it down to the shortblock and deliver it to a local guy.
Some links I have found so far:
93-95 Engine Removal
93-95 Engine Teardown From Longblock To Shortblock
Alex Wan Rebuild Notes
I think both apex seals are busted and I've driven a while with O-ring problem (leakage into the engine) so I need to get the engine out soon to avoid to much rust, etc.
Please supply some more links

i was able to figure out most of it as i went, but a couple times i had to check with Rotary Resurrection's how-to and that gave me what i needed. it's not that hard, really. just make sure you check how to get the transmission off!!! there's a little trick to it, here's a post from my buildup:

and here's the engine separated from the transmission:

DVD on removing and re-installing a motor in an FD. Well worth it.
Biggest advice I can give is LABEL EVERYTHING and TAKE PICTURES. You'd be surprised how easy it is to forget how junk goes together. Also, get a bunch of 1 gallon Ziploc baggies and a sharpie - put small parts like nuts and bolts in their own baggies and label. Small stuff gets lost REAL easy. People get excited when taking stuff apart and just go to work, throwing junk everywhere - it's not a race! Take your time, a little extra time on teardown documenting and organizing makes up tenfold when you put it back together.
