Just bought my 2nd FD off eBay!
Hi guys. theorie here.
Looks like I'm going to be behind the wheel of another FD in the near future - I just won an eBay auction tonight for a 1993 Silver w/ Red interior FD. The car has 29,xxx original miles on it and looks beautiful.
Ever since I sold my silver on black '94 FD about two years ago, I've been really missing the Rx-7. I'm currently driving a 2005 Subaru STi, which I really like - but hey, it's no FD.
I live in New York City, but I'm moving to Orlando in August - so don't worry, this beauty won't ever see NYC. I'm going to store it in Florida for the next couple of months until I move down there.
I guess I'll be flying out to pick it up later this week or over the weekend. Can't wait to drive it!
It's very lightly modded, here's the list:
+ Pettit Racing 3in. Stainless exhaust from turbo back W/ dual exhaust tips
+ Random Technology 4 in. metal matrix pre-cat custom welded in down pipe
+ Pettit high-flow main cat
+ Fluidyne oversized competition radiator
+ Clifford Alarm W/ remote starter & ignition cutouts & tilt sensor
+ OEM front air splitter
+ Pettit column mount boost gauge
+ All vacuum hoses replaced 2002
+ Magnecore plug wires & new (2006) plugs
+ SSR Competition forged 17 in. alloy wheels - 9 in. wide rear, 8 in. wide front
+ SmarTire pressure/temp monitor on wheels & in dash
+ Kuhmo 712 Ecsta Supra ZR tires 265/40/17 rear 235/45/17 front
+ Alpine 9805 tuner XM compatible W/CD and in dash MP3 port & OEM Bose speakers.
+ Red-Top battery relocated to passenger's storage compartment
+ K&N drop-in air filter
+ Twin gas-filled hood struts (replaces OEM hood prop)
+ Engine torque dampener (for better shifting)
+ M2 AST coolant expansion tank bypass
+ Aircraft style hose clamps
+ Front Strut Tower Bar
+ Dual 3-point racing harnesses and OEM seat belts in place
+ PIAA fog lamps (replace OEM driving lights)
And the photos:
Well, I guess I'll be hanging out around here more often.

So, since you're going public I guess I'll asking the question everyone wants to know. How much did you pay for it?
I'll throw in some other questions while I'm at it. Why did you sell your previous FD?
Are you having this new one shipped to you? If so, how are you arranging that? Any worries about the shipper you're using? Do they charge a lot?
Did you check out the car before you bought it? If not, what are your thoughts about buying a car like this sight unseen on e-bay?

Awhh... You're going to miss out on all the NYRA (New Yrok Rotary Association), CTRA, and NJRA events this year. We're probably going to hit it big this year too (a growing community). www.nyrotary.com
Congrats!

Congrats!
Nice car and colors! (I'm a little partial to silver / red since I have a '94 w/ same). Make sure you do all fluids, fuel filter etc... The brake fluid looks a little dark.
Enjoy your new ride!

Awesome! Congrats dude. . .must feel good to actually have the car in your posession now.
Enjoy her. I'm in Orlando every now and then. . . my car's been up on the shelf for a while, but hope to have her back this weekend. Looking forward to seeing you at an Orlando meet some time.
