Inj Duty Cycle

Hey guys I just took my FD for a spin to check something out.. I was doing some pretty hard pulls on the intersate and afterwards I looked at the PFC peaks.. I noticed that my peak injector cycle was 85.8% Is this safe? Im still running stock injectors.. The pull was on third gear all the way to 8100rpm..

Thanks
Flipn

there is nothing wrong with maxing out your injectors. my firend is hitting 100% duty cycles and theres nothing wrong with that its just your decreasing your margin for failure.

its not a good thing but there's nothing wrong, thats all

The more you increase your duty cycle the more risk you are running off a failure. 85% is the max I would go, but this is also a highly debated issue on the forum. The higher the duty cycle the more risk of running lean, and we all know what this leads to.

I hit 98% on mine quite often..
I could use more fuel but as long as I stay under 15 psi Im ok.

85%.. You have plenty of fuel.

It is NOT safe to run injectors past 85% duty.

I thought so too, but I take this now to be a misconception.

Good info. I think the 100% injector duty would be the worst to hit.

I hit 93% last night. I think not going above 90% is a good rule of thumb. I believe I heard somewhere the OEM injectors can handle higher percentages when compared to some aftermarket injectors...I.E, they have less of a chance of sticking @ high usage.

I wasn't too concerned because I had the trusty WI kicking in above 10 PSI.

1000th post for me....yea...

Anyway, I was set to 15 PSI on the stock twins. I'd regularly hit 97% when getting on it. I agree that you're playing a risky game when you only have a 3% margin for error, but if you're tuned right, and everything's mechanically sound, I don't know why it would be THAT big of an issue. Every car is obviously different. Just because I could doesn't mean that you can. It's trial and error. Tune to 10, 12 or whatever PSI. If you have room to play and want to go higher, then go higher.
