Cool important question regarding emissions...more inside

Well next month i have to do my emissions test i used to have a hook up and they would pass me. i no longer have this option and people here in colorado spring are uptight about passing people. Well there are many of you here that live in cities. How do you guys get emissions passed other than the legal way? what tricks are there or loop holes? can i get a mail box in a state or county (where there are no emissions)and have my car registered to that adress to have it exempt. I have no clue. Help me out here , thanks in advance.....

I am not sure of what you are running with regards to you car, but I was able to pass tough Cali emissions testing by putting a stock main cat back on, and also using some of the smog additive. I ran through one tank with one bottle of additive (as it says to do on the label), and then added one bottle to a 1/4 tank before going to have my car tested. It passed with no problems (after failing initially with high flow cat and just regular gas). Also, with the additive added, I didn't really get on the turbos, for fear of running lean.

You can register it in other states, but run the risk of getting pulled over frequently (at least here in Cali).

Hope this helps.

thanks themcneal

i got rid of all emisisons stuff on my car, i have a downpipe, midpipe also it would be such a pain to get all the emmisions back on and put back on all the stock pipes then to take it off for the next 2 yrs and repeat...So it is possible to register car somewhere else...whats the worse that can happen if i get pulled over. Thanks again.

if there are any more ideas out there i'd be glad to hear them

You will not pass in Colorado without a cat and air pump. There are several Colorado counties that don't require testing, though.

Air pump, cat, and lots of denatured will get anything to pass. Install the cat, run the air pump directly into it. Wire the air pump so it runs continually. Run a mixture of somewhere between 25% and 50% alcohol.

If that doesnt work drive out to Limon (I think they are out of El Paso county and dont require emissions). Take some random house address, and use it to get a PO box out there. Get your car registered in Limon and change your drivers license to Limon. If you get pulled over tell them you are a student. I guess you could do the same thing in Pueblo, I dont think they have emissions yet.

denatured alcohol. It is available at your local ACE hardware store in the paint supply section for about $10 a gallon.

Run your tank down close to empty, add a gallon or 2 oe denatured then get tested. It doesnt hurt to give your car a big intake leak so you dont boost. After testing, fill up completely with premium to dilute the alcohol. Dont run too hard on that tank, wait until the next fill up to really get on it.
