I want to retrofit some BMW HIDs onto a sleek head light kit. I also want to pay someone to do it! Please PM me with your price or post in the thread. Thanks
Why are you so dead set on using BMW HID lamps instead of a fully integrated kit? The answer must be that you already have a set of BMW HID lamps. Since the most likely source of HID lamps is by theft.....
Even if you have the HIDs from a "legit" source, it would probably cost more to retrofit them than to just buy an existing kit. That's assuming it's even possible to retrofit them into the FD's headlight assembly or cutout area.
Most individuals who undertake this project purchase their equipment from ebay and online forums catering to HID enthusiasts. The most popular type of equipment, e-code projectors, has to be imported from Europe. Most of the equipment I purchase comes from a headlight wholesaler located in Germany, but there are a few domestic re-sellers offering e-code equipment on ebay on a regular basis.
Projector headlights have been successfully integrated into stock FD headlights. I've built a pair with the assistance of a friend, and Pandazrx7 on this forum has completed this project as well. It is a very time consuming project, however. I believe Pandaz spent almost a full day to complete his retrofit; Efinity on this forum (who, by the way, has a set of M3 projectors in his headlights) can tell you how much time my friend and I spent on his retrofit.
I'm selling my FD soon so unfortunately I can't help you. Someone who undertakes this project needs to have an FD on hand for aiming purposes, as the sharp cutoff of a projector leaves no room for inaccurate aiming.
If you do decide to try it yourself, purchase a couple of headlights. It's not uncommon for individuals attempting this task to go through one or two headlights. At around $100 for a pair of headlight, not to mention the cost of the associated equipment needed for a retrofit, you can see that this project requires a certain level of commitment.

I don't have any headlights yet. I know it would cost more, but BMW have the best xenons in the business, just my opinion please no flaming. Also why would you assume I would have stolen some headlights? I saw a set on ebay for about 550 dollars. I am not a thief, I was just seeing if I could hire someone to do it for me.

I appreciate the help. Could you possibly help me in regards to what items I need to "procure" legally to start. I would appreciate any help as I am completely unfamiliar with HIDs or any headlights in general.
Very well put J.J. It is a BITCH!!!! to retrofit the BMW HID's. I am in the middle of trying to retrofit a set into my C-west lights, and I have to tell you, I spent weeks engineering a projector housing that will fit.
Good Luck.

BMW does not build the lenses, they just build the housing. From what I understand, the BMW headlights use a Hella projector, although it might be custom made to fit the BMW.
You should see similar (if not better) results using a Hella projector.
Its not hard at all to do. Its takes more time to turn the tail lamps into the JDM style round circle, than it does for the headlights. The hard part is finding the lamps
If you still looking for a retrofitter, you should contact my friend Larry at f4iracing@extremevelocity.net. The things he can do are just CRAZY! check out his website at www.hidperformance.com yea it hasnt been updated for a while cuz he's been doing alot of retro's lately but it should give you an idea of what this **** can do.

He's really good at what he does...I recommend him highly. He charges about $300 labor for a retrofit but he is a perfectionist. I've referred a couple of people to him (sent him a customer that wanted his Camaro lights retrofitted) when I've been busy with school and work.
Not a bad deal at all!! Those look like the Bi-Xenon's that I retrofitted into my stock housings. But, they'll be way harder (almost impossible) to fit into sleek lights because they're a lot bigger compared to single xenon projectors...
If you want sleek lights and Xenon's, I would stick to Hella BMW E46 projectors with halogen high's and have the Xenon's stay on when the high's are used. (very easy)
