I only change my oil as often as I go to the dentist.
I change my oil once every six months. However, I drive it about 200-250 miles a month. Most of the time, it sits in my garage. Does anyone see any issues longterm with my vehicle doing this? Yes, I know the more often you change it, the better, but I don't have much time since I work fulltime.
well, oil that sits in the bottom of your oil pan for long periods of time will retain some condensation. it needs to be started at least once or twice a week if you arent going to drive it that much. letting the oil sit like that isnt good for the engine. . . it also allows more oil to drain out of the engine and you will have more metal to metal cold starts that way. its okay if you arent putting the mileage on it. . .. just make sure that you start it frequently.
