How can I remove the PS Pulley without the tool?

I need to remove the power steering pulley, but it requires some gay *** tool, and nobody sells one. I am removing the engine, and I am stuck cause of this damn pulley.

Please help =)

Thanks
-Darren-

Hmmm... Probably taken about 10-15 of these off without any special tool. Use impact wrench to loosen the nut (belt is off already) then just pull the pulley off by hand. If that doesn't work then you might need to "rock" the pulley back and forth. Push with one hand, pull with the other while your hands are on opposite sides of the pulley.

If you don't have an impact wrench you can still get the nut off if you put the car in gear and put the e-brake on.

you probably could do it w/o the tool, but its so much easier with it. Customers are always coming into my work jsut to use it. I can take the pulley off and press it back on to a new pump all in about 2-4 minutes with it.

I managed to break mine one time; $76.xx from the local mazda dealer. Either find an impact gun, or make your own tool out of a couple pieces of flat stock. it's a very easy tool to make.

Impact wrench works wanders, came right off! Other then that you'll have to get someone to stand on a wrench to get the bolt off.
