Heavy smoking after Acceleration

Hey, I have a new problem at hand. I was out running around, and when I boosted, I would get just a tiny bit of smoke - blue! Normal. But when I let off, the BOV hit, then a couple seconds later I got TONS of blue smoke!!! It seems to be a 1-3 seconds after i'm in the next gear; on decel or just starting to cruise.

At first I thought it was the turbo, so I pulled off the the charge pipe right after the turbo, and it is clean as a whistle!! Could it be the oil control rings in the motor? LMK what you think.
Thanks,
Travis

check your pcv valve that connects to the oil filler neck. i had mine in backwards but then one day it started smoking on decel like yours. check the valve that it vents only one way and that it vents air into the intake mani.

I forgot to mention that too. I had already checked the pcv valve. It vents in the right direction, and actuates like normal.
Thanks for your response.

only other things really left are leaky turbos/turbo, oil control ring in the engine went out, another culprit could be that you have OMP issues. how many miles on the motor? tell me about your setup...

Single turbo setup - Streetported motor with 5k miles - PFC - 550's and 1300's - stock omp lines, etc etc

I very much doubt it's the oil control rings, you can rule that out as well as a porting mishap b/c you have 5k miles on your setup.

Seems to me the problem is most likely the turbo. How much boost has it seen? what specific turbo is it? what brand/weight oil are you running, what size oil return line and is it kinked at all?

Also, it only does the heavy smoking when I boost and let off. Maybe it is the exhaust side on the turbo??? But if the turbo was bad, wouldn't it smoke all the time?

It is the XS engineering T04E kit. 10W40. 12psi. Oil return line is a hard line w/no kinks.

From experience I bet its from your turbo on the exhaust side. Pull of your down pipe, I bet you have alot of oil residue.

^ yeah pull the downpipe and look inside it. i would if you have time pull the turbo from the manifold and see if there is oil in there. if its in the exhaust manifold the its upstream so we can go back to the motor.

its funny cause i had the exact situation and it was my pcv (new motor and nearly new turbo). do you have a cap on the nipple facing down on the oil filler neck? i had the pcv valve backwards then turned it the right way and it still blew oil on decel. yet when i took the cap off the nipple facing down it stopped the smoking problem...

Yah, I'm gonna pull the downpipe today. The nipple facing down has a vacuum line going somewhere. Not sure where, because I just glanced at it.

Thanks fellas.
