Have you ever noticed...
Have you ever noticed when driving your "other" car- '02 Honda Civic in my case that certain cars try to toy with you. But when you're driving your FD those cars don't but another class of cars do?

Another class meaning like actual cars that are worth racing?
Not me though, whenever im driving the FD, i get ANY car trying to race me or at least get me to hit the throttle. From civics to buicks, suv's to porsches. I get everything.
When driving the beater, never, im the one actually trying to race people with my beater lol. Like off the lights, when lanes merge into one, i think i have a built auto supra lol

Well, when i'm driving the civic (lowered, stock hubbies) i get other hondas, celicas, and scions trying to race me. when i drive the fd (front lip, hugified exhaust) i get f-bodies & mustangs trying to race me.
I get the occasional hotrod ricer but i usually just downshift to fourth, get next to him, blow-off, dip back and that's the end.
In other news i took my car to check out "the scene" got challenged to a race by a "stock" Evo, i declined. Another guy asked me if it was turbo'd i said yeah, but i'm still on the stock twins. His jaw dropped... i thought... wow, these people just don't know.

FD is an idiot magnet. I don't street race or take my car to "the scene" but I get these V6 Mustangs revving their engines all the time. I was out one night trying to determine if I fixed a boost leak and kept getting bothered by some modded SRT4, he tried to pass me but I walked him with my .38bar boost

I'm over in Crofton so when I came across this I was curious...

I guess if the car is part of the "scene", then yes you will get those idiots.
When i had my 300ZX TT i had people too. When i had my 99 civic si, i had other hondas too. I guess it wont stop.

Ha... whenever I drive my FD on sunny days, I only happen to pass grandmas and grandpas... when I take my buick out on shitty days or in the winter, I'll pass a bus of cheerleaders and every hot girl with a nice car will pull up next to me... kinda pisses me off actually...

That happens to me too! not the bus-loads of cheerleaders but all of the good cars only seem to be out when i'm driving the honda.
I get the occasional middle aged man in a 6cyl mustang, or mullet driven cherry bombed '80's vintage rust bucket camaro. but i don't get the s/c cobras, tuned cars, or *real* challenges that would actually warrant a stab on the fun pedal.

Weird Cat Man
When I'm in my Honda S2000, riced out Civics, Celicas, Accords all try to mess with me. The Porsches, Evos, STi, Vettes all do too. I race them all if they're up for it. SUVs, family cars, and exotics mostly ignore me.
When I'm in my wife's Hyundai Accent, the SUVs and other crap-handling usually-slow things like Buicks actually **** with me and cut me off, but they don't even think about it in my S2000. The Hondas and sports cars mentioned above mostly ignore me. The car is too slow to race anyone except as a joke I'll rev on fart-cannon Civics sometimes since her Hyundai has open headers (exhaust fell off pre-cat).
When I'm in my FD (single turbo heh), SUVs and family cars ignore me. Ricer cars and entry level sports cars all try HARD to get me to race them. Upper level sports cars mainly pretend they don't see me (fear of losing I think)... Sometimes you'll get a vette that will race, but that's usually over pretty fast! Exotics definitely ignore me 99% of the time due to a massive fear of losing to a "shitty 15 year old Mazda" (this is what they think I'm sure).
The sad part is that the only fun cars to race are the exotics but they're almost all too chicken.

The other night a black civic si hatch went at my car. kept up pretty well although i can't really discuss specifics or who was driving, or where... of course that was when i was wide open exhaust, unported wastegate and no PFC. i don't think it'd be so close now.
there was also a vette, i dunno if he was toying with me or not, i was coming on to the highway and happened to merge right next to him with a blow off. he'd speed up, slow down, speed up, slow down. had an aftermarket exhaust on it and what i think was a tuner sticker but i couldn't place it.
