Need some info guys...

Hey, love the site. Been lurking for months and finally registered.

Questions:

I'm looking for a 3rd gen rx7 (93-95) and I don't know what to look for, meaning what to steer clear of, what mileage, etc. I know I want tan interior with red paint.

Anyway, what different models were made for those years? I've seen posts talking about it being a "touring edition" and what not, and I have no idea as to all the specific packages that were availiable for these years. I know I want the twin turbo, and that I will want it 100% stock. Seems to be the ones I've looked at that were modified, have been run so hard I'm scared to even consider buying them.

And I've also heard talk that when you mod the rotary motors, they become very tempermental. Is this true? The only real upgrades I would honestly consider would be exhaust, and cosmetic changes like wide body kit from veilside that I've been drooling over for a year.

My wife has FINALLY given me the go ahead to get serious about looking for this car, and I'm trying to dig up everything I need to make a wise purchase so I'm not left regretting my purchase and ending up with a car that has been run into the ground.

Any obvious things I need to look out for? Willing to spend up to 20k for a decent machine, if that's what it will take to get one in good order.

Between the content of the FAQ (https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/) and the sites linked in it, you should find the answers to your questions and much more. It's set up to help potential buyers.
