Got a low milage turbo pack what to do
I would just like to canvas opinions as to what to do before I put them on the car. I was thinking of the following.
1. Port the Wastegate. As far as I can tell from reading this group there is no down side to doing this no matter what mods are on the car as the wastegate opening is all based on pressure and not the ECU ?
2. Ceramic coating on the exhaust manifold and parts of the turbo. I would get this professionally done. Is it wise to do the inside and the outside ?
Anything else ?
I'm not interested in a non-sequential conversion and I wont be going to a single turbo.
Cheers

I don't think too many people have coated the manifolds. I think BNR does it when they rebuild their turbos, but us DIY usually do not. I probably would not coat the inside of the turbos though. Lots of heat in there and small tolerances. Wouldn't want to risk something flaking off and screwing up clearances.
I understand the there is little downside to porting the wastegate, but I remember reading a post from Mahjik recently that had a negative. Don't remember what it was though. Do a search on his name and see what info pops up.

I you are not interested on going non-sequiential there is no need of porting the wastegate realy.
If you are gonna port it anyway the wastegate oppening will crack alot more faster than usual and it will create big exhaust passage through it and the turbos will not boost normal anymore and even not over 7 psi.
Good luck with your car and do other mods before you consider porting the wastegate, also do alot of surch before you do anything.
John.
