Fuel Pressure Regulator Selenoid....is this important?
I am helping one of the local FD guys work on his car and need some clarification on something.
Somebody else had worked on his car in the past to take it to non-sequential, and they kind of left it a mess. We are working on removing the rats nest and all of the unused selenoids. We are clipping the connectors and soldering in resistors to clean things up a bit (still has the stock ECU).
We were told to go ahead and get rid of the Fuel Pressure Regulator solenoid (orange one) and just run the vacuum hose from the angled nipple on the LIM to the fuel pressure regulator.
I did a search and have been reading some conflicting opinions on whether it is a good idea to get rid of this solenoid or not.
Anybody had any experience with this? Is the car going to run too rich at idle with this removed? What should we do?
