Front Susp issue:Clunking when braking,shimmy-ing over 70miles.upper control armbus?

Hi friends!

Again with an issue! This is not my lucky year...

My car is working pretty bad. When I brake, I hear a "Clunk" on the front. ( not the pillowballs on the back).
Also, I feel the stering wheel (and the whole front) vibrating a lot.

I checked the tires and they are ok.
Also, the alignement is OK.
I have aftermarket wheels, but I dont think they are the issue...

I went 2 my mechanic, and he told me that my front sway mounts are Broken and my upper control arm bushings are dead. He show me (with the car oin the air) that the front right wheel has like a movement (like play).

COUL BE THE upper control arm bushings and the front sway mounts the reason of the shimmy-ing??????

THANX 4 YOUR HELP AGAIN!
I hope u understood.

your problem

IF the bushings weren't replaced, they are a high possibility. If the mounts for the sway bar are actually broken from the frame of the car, that could definitely make a lot of noise. How new are the brakes?
If the wheel can be moved around once the car is jacked up, check the wheel bearing as well. Save up for this bill.
Good luck.

Here are some upgraded Mazdaspeed sway bar mounts. They do break after prolonged use.

Upper control arms do tend to wear also and make clunking noises. Bushings are readily available for ~$60 each. However, the ball joints are not replaceable so if the ball joints are shot, you need to replace the whole arm. Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda quoted me $250 each upper control arm. I think he ships internationally.

Sounds like you know what the problem is.
