The easy way to spot them is the backside of the hub on the "weak" wheel has square depressions, and the backside of the hub on the improved, stronger wheel has bell shaped depressions.

Same here, my 94 had the "weaker" style wheels. I thought that maybe it was becasue my car is Canadian Spec, but according to turbojeff this is not as unusual as I originally thought.

Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the wheels. I'm sure some owners of some FDs could look at thier wheels and take pics of the back side and the casting dates on the front side.
My 93 R1 had the "stronger" type wheels on it. I bought the car in '98 w/36K miles from the original owner. The likely hood that he had changed the wheels with another set of stockers is pretty low. The casting date on the wheels was 1/92 or 2/92. That matched pretty well with my car's 2/92 build date. One of the earlier FDs.
