Question exhaust question???pls help

Alright so i put 3 inch everything on my exhaust. and when i took of the old midpid with the catalytic converter ther was a flange looking thing with 2 screws. pretty small like 1 to 2 inches , and it connected to the precat,, so when i put on the midpipe there was no hole for it. what is it? i was thinking it was the over heat exhuast thing that the car comes stock with. pls help!!!

Are you referring to the air line that attaches to the stock main cat? If so, the midpipe doesn't need an air feed. Just plug the old line.

You do have an aftermarket ecu/boost controller, right?

That line pumps air into the main cat to make it work more effectively at low rpms. The midpipe you have on there now is not a cat, so it doesn't need the air line.

Please do yourself a favor and don't drive your car until you get an ECU and a boost controller. I won't even get into the reasons why, search if you need them, just don't drive it.

if you do drive youre car please ,look at the boost ,i dont think that getting a full exhaust without any type of boost controling device ,or without a engine management of some sort is a good idea , you could harm youre engine

Even at the same boost level, you will have more airflow and generate more power. Boost level alone does not determine who much power you car is making.

Click on the links that have already been posted to answer your question. Here is another one:
http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/stages.html

Search button works well also if you want to learn about the different ECUs and make an educated decision as to which one would fit your needs. Your question about ECU is very open ended and depends on your mods and the goals you want from the car.

Be careful though. All it takes is a quarter throttle to get the car to hit 15+psi worth of boost which will blow your engine pretty quickly. A full exhaust the way you did it is the quickest way to a blown engine. You might want to learn a bit about modding the car b/c if you don't know what to get and in which order to do it, you will blow the engine real quick. rotaries require a knowledge in order to mod.

It depends on the goals for your car and your wallet (how much $$$ you want to spend).

You can pick up an Apexi Power FC, however, without a proper tune you are just asking for trouble (that and a new motor).

For starters, I would suggest picking up a Pettit ECU. This will allow you to increase boost and gain some good power. If down the line you want more out of your car, the Pettit ECU's always resell very well.

Keep in mind that an ECU alone may not solve all your problems. If you experience boost creep, no ECU or boost controller can help.

Wow, and I added that ecu comment as a second thought.....

You should have done a little more research before putting the midpipe on. IMO, most of the forum treats the midpipe mod too casually anyway.

I strongly suggest you put the stock cat back on until you become a little more knowledgable about the car. You are going to blow your engine if you're not careful.
