exhaust hanger

I got a n RB exhaust, actually it came with the car, there was supposed to be a hanger that bolted to the canister with two bolts, there is a special stainless bracket on the passenger side for it, well, someone had a beautiful idea of welding a small rod onto the bracket, now it's all rusted and from the back looks ugly. Besides, the shape of the rod is wrong, it's too short and too far from the origional rubber thing. I'm thinking of carefully grinding that rod off, polish the little bracket and bolt another one made from stainless steel that would look decent, something close to the one that's supposed to be there.

Does anyone know what the last hanger on the passenger's side looks like, the one that bolts to the canister? May be a pic? Does it hang on the origional rubber thing or does it bolt to the tow hook?

Its a Mazda part only. You can buy it from Malloy Mazda- Ray Crowe. He'll know the part you need. Number is in the FAQ thread if you don't have it.

Yep, it's a Mazda part. That's the one thing I don't like with the RB exhausts - you have to re-use that stock bracket. Those brackets are also cheap used - I got one from Fritz for an RB exhaust I restored for mighty cheap.

I was thinking of making my own, I just need to know what it looks like. I can't find a picture of the actual hanger anywhere.

I answered this question in another thread a few days ago with the Part # - search for it.

It is also in the parts catalogs - just download from the sticky at the top of the forum.

Thanks jkstill, I ordered mine and got it from my local Mazda. There is a rubber hanger and a rod welded above the muffler. This is where the exhaust bracket hooks to.
