Engine front hub and thrust barring
I got my engine back from the builder but he didn't install the front engine hub? I know about the roller barring inside the front cover and how important it is to keep it in place. My dilemma is, I installed the hub and rotated the engine on the stand and felt it drop down a small amount so it seated something also I understand the hub protrusion behind the "E" shaft should not exceed around 240 mm or there is a problem with the thrust barring/roller barring. The measurement is hard to make from within the hub and it looks like its still over 240 mm is there a way to get the thrust/needle barring to slip back. Does anyone have some ideas to offer up while doing this project. I am not sure the rollers are incorrectly.

Sit the engine on the flywheel and use something long and thin to slide in and push the bearing in place . To be sure remove the front cover . Put grease on the bearing and thrust washer install the cover and hub .How much is a new gasket, how much is a new engine ?
