ground circuit?
Car still will not start. Original thread here .
Replaced the fuel pump, still nothing. I was getting voltage on one side of the fuel pump connector, but not the side of the pump. Got a new harness, and plugged in the connectors and got voltage on the ring terminals. But now I don't (after messing with it for 6 hours Plugged the pump in and put it in the tank, but still would not start.
Thought it may be flooded, so I did the atf trick twice. Car still didn't start. No combustion or trying to turn over at all.
Took out the pump again, and tried to get voltage at the terminals, but got none. I get it at the connector, but not on the pump.
Page F-100 of the manual has the troubleshooting. I can't hear the pump at the filler, I measured voltage on the connector, which was a little bit low, but my battery has gone through the wringer. Next step is to measure continuity on A and B of the connector. I have none, so it says to "repair the ground circuit".
But then on the next page F-101, the last troubleshooting step says if there IS continuity to those same connectors, replace the fuel pump.
I'm now thoroughly confused.
