Perchased a K type egt probe but i didnt know how to connect it to my datalogit or my LM-1 wideband to give a range of 0-5v.
So had a friend of mine who is a whiz with electronics to have a look.
Short of it is hes managed to make a small (1in x 2in) board that will give out a 0 to 5v signal and wont ever give out a negative signal or anything higher than 5v.
The temp range is 500f at 1v and about 1600f at 4v.
We are looking if there is a market somehting like this as thats what he duz for a living.
Anyone interested just let me know via this thread.
Think the pricing will be about £45 GBP

Oh and the board has all relevent wires on a flex about 2ft long and also has 2 little screw connectors to attach your EGT wires, all that is required is connect it to your datalogit.

I mentioned that some guys who are track tuned go upto 1800 and above and he replyed that it would not be a problem.
Just let me know the ranges for 0 and 5 and he will make it.
Basicly all you do is connect this to your egt and datalogit then conect a 12v and grnd and thats it.

Reitterate its kinda the same but a lot more as well.
I will soon be reciveing all the info as im a numpty when it come to electonics, will post it as soon as i do.

Thermocouple Interface.
- K type thermocouple.
- Cold junction compensated.
- Supply 7 to 17 Volts DC.
- Output approximately 200'C (360'F) per Volt. Calibration data supplied with each interface.
- Range: Linear output from 0'C (32'F) to 870'C (1600'F) followed by a non-linear output up to 5 Volts at approximately 1000'C (1800'F) (rember this can be preprogrammed to anything)
- Output limited to 5.1 Volts.
- Connections: Two screw terminals for thermocouple; Two supply wires (0 & 12 Volts); Two output wires (Signal & Signal ground)
- Size approximately 50x25x12mm (2"x1"x1/2")
- Weight approximately 50 g (2 oz)
