Do I need an FPR ??

With the following mods, will I be fine just using a Walbro 255 fuel pump? Or do I need a aftermarket FPR as well.

air filters
Full exhaust (downpipe, midpipe, catback)
FMIC with hardpipes
walbro 255

I've searched through countless threads, but I'm only more confused than when I started.

Thanks

No, you don't need an FPR. But with the stock fuel injectors and ecu, there is no point in upgrading the fuel pump.

You should not run a midpipe without first porting the wastegate and you should really have an aftermarket ecu with fuel upgrades. Stick with a hi-flow or the stock main cat. And you're going to need a boost controller. Modding FD 101 stuff here.....

Would I be safe using both a Walbro 255 and an FPR with the mods listed above? I'd like to ditch the cats and I'd rather not mess with aftermarket ECU's.

I already have a Walbro 255 (had it in my supra), along with a FMIC. IC piping, intake piping, and exhaust I am able to fabricate myself at little cost.
I would like to put as little money into this as possible (don't get me wrong...I want to upgrade while mantaining reliability...but if I can avoid some costs I'd like to.

So....intake w/filters, FULL exhaust (no cats), and an FMIC...am I safe with a walbro and fpr....w/ a BC to keep boost under 12?? Sound ok?

Thanks again.

Sounds like this motor is more finicky than my little bro at the dinner table...a new ECU is required just to remove the cat??

The reasoning is flow. once your turbos are flowing more, you will get more boost. porting your wastegate will help, but if you ditch your cats and free up your intake, chances are you will still boost above 10psi. the stock ECU can't handle much boost over stock. hence the popularity of ECU upgrades in the FD community.

I see.
The car has a downpipe in it right now, other than that it is completely stock. There is dual tip muffler on it, but it looks as though it was welded to the end of the stock exhaust, so I doubt if there's much of a gain if any.
Without getting into fuel upgrades....pumps, fpr's, or ecu ugrades, is there much else that can be done to free up any extra power other than the downpipe? Would a legit cat-back be feesable, and perhaps cone filters, or is that already pushing it? If I can add better filters, and free up the exhaust somewhat with a cat-back, and keep the stock cat I would ok with that.

So... ditch stock air box and add cone/pod filters, run a downpipe, and catback...while keeping the stock cat in place.....am I safe?

Sorry for all the noobish questions....I'm new to the rotaries and reading through all the threads under the search function has got my head spinning when it comes to reliable upgrades concerning bolt-ons and fuel.
Thanks for all the help so far.
