Crank but no start
I did a motor swap (motor from wrecked Type-RS into my Type-RZ) a couple of weeks back, car ran fine for about 3-4 days.. then bam.. crank but no start.
Ive searched the forums for the last week or so and tried numerous different suggestions...
* Went through the unflood proceedure
* Changed spark plugs
* Checked fuel system
* Checked/changed fuses and relays
* Unplugged 1600cc secondary injectors
* Checked earths
* Changed HT leads (and grounded one while cranking - there's no spark)
* Changed coil packs
* Checked compression
* Changed alternator
* Changed charge loom
* Checked Haltech wiring
Well... that brings me up to now... have established I have fuel and compression, but no spark
I'm admitting defeat... really at a bit of a loss.. help?!

isn't there a harness connector problem with the engine harness that connects to the coilpacks?
search and check it out, sure you aren't having a problem with your engine management?

I would agree it sounds like a problem with the haltech.
Are you getting an rpm signal in the haltech while cranking? If not check crank angle sensors and their associated wiring
If you are, are you using the stock igniter to fire the coils?
If you have signal up to the igniter, see if you have current coming out of the igniter. Then check the leads to the coils.
There’s a problem along one point of everything I just listed. id go on a limb and say the igniter fried, but the stock igniter is pretty solid. Did you check all the fuses in the haltech loom? I remember I had the same problem one time and blew one of the 5 or 10 amp fuses....

Thanks for the responses guys - I'm not entirely sure what the problem was, but it is fixed now.
I plugged my laptop into the Haltech and chose 'Online'. Thought I would run some data logging while cranking it to see if there was anything obvious. However much to my surprise, the car started!
Not sure what connecting to the Haltech achieved, but its fixed everything.
Thanks once again for your input

problems like that suk somtimes. tough to trust the car.
just to be clear the ignitor does not send out any current, it just switches the ground path on/off for the coils to fire

theres something with the computer. I had a friend who had a similar problem and when we put the stock computer back on it ran fine. if its not on right it wont start.
But glad you got the problem fixed.
Cant believe you went through all those parts though!
