I just got my new 1994 RX7 and the battery is dead so I bought a new one and it turns but the car doesn't turn on. It starts to crank but I don't know why its not turning on.

The owner before me told me its flooded, is it likely flooded? how do I fix it?

if it's flooded you will probably be able to smell the fuel. there's a thread somewhere in here about how to get a flooded car started.
was it running when you went to buy it? cause there can be a lot of causes for a car not starting.

No I am in Washington State and bought it here on this forum from Texas I don't smell fuel.

My friend who was standing next to the engine when I was trying to start it said that he smelt gas.

Hold the gas pedal to the floor and try to crank it a few times.

what size battery should I get with the 3rd gen?

When I install the new battery should the car start right away or should it stay off for awhile before I turn it on?

Also I got a key from the seller and it broke.

Easy way to unflood an FD:

Push the pedal all the way to the floor. Now, and only now do you turn the key and try to start it. Crank for 15 seconds, release key and turn back to off, take foot off gas pedal.
Now, just crank it again for 15 seconds or so...DO NOT TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL!
Repeat step one. The important thing is to push the pedal to the floor BEFORE you try to crank it or even turn the key on.
Repeat step two.
Just keep repeating this cycle and eventually the car will start "hitting" on one rotor. Don't give in to the temptation to touch the gas just yet. Just keep repeating the above sequence. The car will finally start and run REALLY rough and shitty, bouncing around and smoking like a bitch. NOW you can give it a little gas and help it clear out its throat a bit.
If it is super flooded you might want to consider hooking a battery charger up to it to give you some added cranking power. It is important that you are cranking over as fast as possible.
Trust me, this WILL work!

or an alternative:

pop the hood and unplug the EGI fuse (the middle one), then crank it for 15 seconds, rest and redo this again for about 3 times (hopefully that will clear the fuel out), then plug the EGI fuse back in, now try to start the car again (dont touch the gas pedal), and it should starts, it will do the same as above post, but i found this works better (i think).

I will try and will update that is if I get my key made cuz the key I got was broken.

Also does anybody have problems with opening their trunks?

Don't know where you are in WA, Mike, but University Mazda can make keys for you if you give them your VIN AND prove you own it (bill of sale, or registration, or title). Try Dick Kurtz in Parts. You might be able to get the Mazda service history for the car as well, if you ask reeeeaaaalllll nice. Dick be good people, but Malloy has better prices...

Also does it make a difference in the key metal? Like me going to a lock smith to get a replica versus going to mazda themself and getting one thru them?

Not really a difference, but Mazda is giving you a "fresh cut" key, not a replica of an already work down key. I find the keys I got from Mazda are a bit stiff in the lock, which makes sense as the tumblers have worn too, but I still like the idea of starting fresh!

Not sure if they have the black plastic coated keys, or only metal ones. You can even get the "valet" key made if you want (an extra notch NOT cut out makes it impossible to open the trunk or glovebox or rear bin, which might be your rear hatch problem...)

I tried everything that all you guys have suggested and it still didn't start. I am going to attempt to change the spark plugs this weekend and hope it will start. Also the new battery died on me that I bought when i got the car.
