I recently went and got an alignment on all four wheels and my car drove perfectly straight. The next day I went and go brand new tires and I noticed that when i was on the freeway as I accelerated it pulled towads the left but as soon as i let go of the accelerator it would pull to my right. If i let the car coast it goes straight, it only does this when I punch it...
any clues ?

breaking traction? lol did ur car get a alignment with different tire pressure? i do my own alignments and that affects it dramatically, you can check if the wheels are balanced, most shops i know dont check those.

If alignment is perfect during cruise and decel, then quite possibly your diff is going out. clutch packs maybe? Also did this only happen after the new tires and alignment?

With new tires I can't say you have one leaking down, I would suggest that you at least check them because if they are different it has been know to affect the car in this mannor. Just curious why would you get new tires after the alignment instead of the other way around ? ? ?

Under-inflated tires will cause the car to pull - I'd double-check the air pressure in all the tires. One of the tires could have a leaky valve stem or a bead that didn't seat.

Might also be worth going back to the alignment shop and have them check it - most places that do alignments will warranty the alignment for a certain amount of time, so they should check and (if necessary) correct it for free.

I had this exact same problem. I had 10,000 miles on my tires when I got a nail in one of the rear tires. Rather than repair it, I bought a new tire of the same size, model, and brand. I measured the tread depth between the new and the "old" tire and there was very little difference.

When I drove the car, I had the exact symptoms you describe.

In the end, I bought another new tire for the rear. As soon as I did, the problem disappeared.

The only thing I can think of is that the Torsen LSD is extremely sensitive to differences in tire circumference. So, after you've made sure the tire pressures match, I'd look into measuring the circumference of the tires with a string or some such thing.

There's also a phenomenon known as radial pull. I suppose it's possible that could be at play. But I suspect some variation between the tires is the cause of your problem.

low tire pressure. happens to me all the time. in my case its the valve stem, i went to change it but no one sells these here since its from japan and i happen to like them. so i just feel up on air every month and a half

Makes no difference, the alignment head is clamped and calibrated to the rim not the tire. You could align a car on just rims with no tires if you wanted.

Yet the tire is on the ground. The car isn't aligned with the suspension at full droop, it's aligned at rest.

The tires do affect the alignment. Imagine really bad camber wear on a tire. That'd certainly mess with getting the alignment set right.

While this may be true, I personaly would rather have the allignment done for the tires I'm going to run, NOT the ones I'm going to throw away.

i would take it back to the allignment shop and have that re done if the problem still exist try and find a shop that has a hunter gsp9700 tire balancer and have them mesure the road force on your tires could be that ur tires are nfg out of the box

i am having similar issue as you just slightly different.
under accel and cruise, it goes straight.
the part that is like your issue is that when i let go of the gas, and have engine braking, it pulls to the right. i'm getting four new tires soon. i hope that fixes it. fix your issue yet?
radial pull? - swap your tires to different sides and see if the pulling switches sides too.

I had the exact problem.. Mine turned out to be bent swaybar mounts. I changed the stock ones to the barefoots and the problem was gone.

I would get it re-aligned. Bring it back to he same shop, they should do it for free.

it's possible they failed to tighten something or something.

the braking issue 7_rocket mentioned isn't "normal" but it is common for some cars to do that. Check your pad wear, a pad (or pads) on one side may be nearly worn out. Somtimes one piston in a caliper is starting to sieze and is harder to move.

This sounds like bad differential mounts. Inspect them! If they look wet, then they are leaking. Weak mounts will cause a ton of rear end slop which will cause unnecessary torquing of your axle making your car pull to one side under hard acceleration. My car use to do this similar thing until I replaced them. I only had one bad mount. It seems that you may have 2 bad ones. My alignment was always fine.

its pretty much a foregone conclusion. Slow punctrue dude, thats how i found mine. 2 weeks after pumping up my tyres, the car started pulling. Repeated 3 times, then i found a big *** nail in my tyre that went PSSSCCCCHHHHH when i popped ito ut.

yes i'm quoting myself

i just put a new set of tires on, all four. put on kumho v710's.
the pull to the right that i explained above is gone completely.
i think maybe one of the tires before must have been bad. they were pretty old.
