best ECU for street ported Auto FD?

I've searched and found mixed reviews on which ECU is best for my automatic FD. I posted earlier and was suggested a PFS Purple. Is this the best for my needs? (street ported 310whp) I've been told that the stock ECU is finicky with higher horsepower automatics. Any more suggestions and why? Thanks again.

if you want to keep the "hold" function dont go with the Power FC. it bypasses it, but still uses the factory auto ecu. i havent heard anything on the PFS Purple

I have used the PFS piggyback and it is alright, I have even used it when I went to a single to4 with 1.16 ar and 60-1 pushing around 10 psi(mine is also ported, with walboro 255, large in bay I/C, radiator, etc.) But I have a PFC in the mail as we speak and I am excited as can be. Take my advice and use the PFC. Forget the hold button. you and I both know that if we drop it to low and slam it that it will hold to around 5 or so and then shift, and without having to actually shift, it makes up for it. There is so much more help for the PFC and support for combinations with this and that mods. The PFS has HI, MED, LOW loads for 2200, 4000, 6000, and 7800 rpms. It has nitrous mode, rev limiter, and real time viewing for O2, rpm, timing, map pressure, and a few others. The PFC has ALOT MORE than that and you can always tune for more!!! I bought my PFC for 680 shipped and my PFS for 350 shipped, the extra is gonna be worth it. Also, I sure hope that your tranny is built to handle the hp.....

Locally here there is a member (a3cadman) who has an Auto, streetported FD and is running a PFC and he loves it. I went for a ride in it a few weeks bac and it performs very well, shifts very smooth and quick. He did perform a couple of little tweaks to his tranny for optimum performance, but nothing major.

I'm using a microtech, works fine. The hold light flashes but it shifts like stock.

Hey jeff p, I have the 4.1 gears and pinion but never installed them, did you do it all your self or did you have someone do it for you? I started to try it, but didn't have the tools to drop out the tunnel brace that runs along the crossmember and such. I would really like to have it done as I have heard that even the 4.1's have a noticeable increase is badassness.

4.3 gears are a great improvement over the 3.9 gears in the auto trans cars. I had mine installed by Rotary Power in Gardina Ca, you need to have the lash set by a quality rear end shop so I would take it in and have it done. its not cheep but well worth it .
