backfire

start car up, idle does not rev to warm up it just stays low then when i step on gas and start to rev the rpm it backfires like crazy. what might this problem be??? installed new dp could it be something to do with that? and my air pump does not work could that be the problem. oh yeah black smoke comin out of the exuast as well. could it be that my ecu is not burning fuel properly? can anyone help me out here.

Well if your getting black smoke you have a ton of unburnt fuel. Which is also causing the backfiring. Do you have the stock ECU? When was the last time you changed your plugs could be your not getting a strong enough spark due to correded lead. Did you replace your Pre CAT with the DP? I assume so could be a problem you had before but your Pre cat cleaned it up better to prevent your backfiring.

I would change your plugs first or atleast check them. Could be an ignition wire is loose or off. Or perhaps a coil. But essentially you aren't igniting all the fuel you putting into the engine.

map sensor is hooked up but i will change the spark plugs tomrow to see if i still have the same problem oh yeah i just drop this motor in last weekend
