auto to manuall questions.

alright so ive read all the post on the subject and I cant seem to find any definitive answers to my question. The things that im confused about are these.
If I do the swap will the 5 speed driveshaft bolt up to the auto differential? If not then I will need the 5 speed diffferential correct?
Next question.Im no expert when it comes to manuals so here goes.If I do this swap I plan on buying a racing beat flywheel with counterweight or counterbalance.
My question is this. What do I need to do to make this part of the swap work? Do I just remove the old flywheel and bolt the new one on with the new counterbalance? Does the auto tranny have anything else other than the flywheel? Like perhaps a counterbalance as well? I need this part broken down to barney level.
After installing the flywheel the clutch should just bolt right up right? no extra modifications need to be done?
And heres the one that scares me the most. The wiring harness.I absolutely need a definite response to this one. What will I have to do to make this work?
Ive read that you need the 5 speed ecu and the 5 speed wiring harness. Is it as easy as that? i doubt it.
So what would be the easiest way to make this all work? I will have the help of my father in law who is a mechanic.but I need to know if this is will be way out of his league as well.Thanx everyone

First off, you can't expect any thread to be immediatly answered on any forum. People will respond when they can

That said...

The Auto driveshaft won't make up to the manual driveshaft, as they're different links. You have to use the driveshaft designed for that specific tranny, so you will need a manual driveshaft

If you use a stock manual flywheel it has the counterweight built in. However, if you use an aftermarket flywheel (which you should if you're going to all the trouble) then you need an automatic counterweight, which you already have installed from the factory.

You have to use a 5spd ECU, but it plugs into the auto wiring harness, which can be modified. However, you can also swap out the auto wiring harness for the 5psd unit to make things easier.

The complete part list you need is:

Tranny
5psd Starter
Flywheel
Clutch and pressure plate
Release and Pilot Bearings (may be include with a clutch kit)
Brake and Clutch Pedals
Clutch slave and Master Cylinders
5psd Speedometer (if you use the 5psd differential)
Shift Select Spindel (not nessicary but should be upgraded with the new unit while you're at it)
Clutch Lines
5psd Differential (not nessicary but ideal)
5psd Driveshaft
Shifter
Shft Boot
5psd ECU

I paid around $2000 for my swap when all was said and done. Maybe a tad bit more.

The 5psd differential has a gear ratio then the auto differential, which provides better accelleration but a lower top end. I highly recommend you install a 5psd unit, but if you don't, you need to re-drill the connecting flange on the 5spd driveshaft to mate to the auto differential (not a big deal, takes about 10 mineuts).

I would suggest reading these threads on the subject:

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ht=auto+vacuum

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...to+manual+swap

Also, I've got an ECU, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and wiring harness for sale for pretty cheap, since I'm working on a 20B swap and don't need them any more. PM me if you're interested.

You do not NEED to swap harnesses. Read those two post over and search for the rest, everything is answered in them. If you need help wiring give me or Tim McCreary a pm.
