Anyone running aftermarket fans?

OK so another set of stock fans have crapped out on me. This is now 2 or 3 in as many years and I'm curious if there is an alternative to replacing 18 year old fans with 18 year old fans. I did a search and really didnt find anything that I was looking for. Anyone running a good set of aftermarket fans in place of the stockers??

You're talking about the motors themselves right? Weren't some people using taurus fans + motors and even newer spec mazda ones? I actually have the 99 spec fan blades but never had a chance to get the install finished.

I'll look into the Taurus fans but those are still pretty old also. Worse comes to worse I'll just have to spend the massive amount of money I'm sure brand new OEM fans will no doubt be.

Any other suggestions?

Be sure to get Taurus SHO fans. 2800CFM (low) and over 4500CFM (high). Look for the v6 model, 1992-1995. Not exactly sure if the 1989-1991 models had the pro fans.

Side note, Yamaha did a some neat work with those engines.

Mazda does not sell the OEM fans as a complete assembly, you have to buy the individual components. This is a good thing as it allows you to just buy the 2 motors and install them in your assembly. They are not inexpensive, but when functioning properly they are great. I have the stock fans on my 20B and they keep it cool.

go back to stock fans cuz they work the best, if anything rebuild or replace the stock fans, and if your car runs hot have get the PFC and have someone with datalogit turn the fans on earlier...

The Taurus fans have been used in a lot of hot rods. They are also getting a little hard to find.
