Anyone having problems with ext. door handles sticking???

I found out a solution today. If it is starting to stick, then more than likely it will end up breaking soon if you keep pulling on it. I popped off the inner plastic(inside the car) and sprayed all around inside the 2 holes with WD-40(spray Lithium grease may work een better) and the handle freed right up. Even if it's a temp. fix, at least it is working alot better now and for a while to go. Just figured this would help some folks out so that they will not break them as easily in the future.

Great tip. FYI WD-40 is very temporary. Try the white lithium for best results.

Its been a year and counting since repair still smooth. Should be done before it sticks.

thanks for the tip. my door handles are starting to get alittle stiff. im wondering is the white lithium grease just a temporary fix?

WD-40's lubricative properties are secondary at best. Check out your local home improvement store for some dedicated lubricants. On that note WD is great for squealing belts too

White lithium is about as permanent as it gets. You might need to sneak in there and respray every couple of years, but I'm not going to complain about that.

OK, so: update everyone. As I said in the first post, the lithium grease seems to be the ticket and until you can get some, assuming most of you have some WD-40, just use that.

WD-40 is more of a cleaner. In that sense, it's actually a decent idea to spray a little first to loosen up any grime which may cause some binding. Then, lubricate the parts with some lithium grease after the WD-40 dries out.

I've been saying this for years. If it sticks, don't force it. Pull off the door handle and lubricate the moving parts on the backside. I use motorcycle chain lube. It is similar to lithium grease except you can spray it and it sticks without running.
