another car wont start problem(searched)

i did search but didnt find much info the seemed to be what im looking for. not sure what that is though.

ok so heres the story

i havent been driving it much and i decided to do a little work in the garage about a week ago. car started drove it around the block and let it run for about 15 min. about 3 hrs later did the same thing and put her away. now all of a sudden it wont start. it tends to flood for no reason sometimes so i pulled the plugs and and went through the usual de flood deal. then replaced them with some new ones and put it all back together and nothin but gas smell again. ok im patient so i take it all back apart do it all again and still nothin but fuel. so i start again. this time i check to make sure i have spark which i do. i checked the values at the map sensor they are in spec. i pre-lubed the rotors with oil through the manifold. checked to see if the pfc had changed, it hadnt. i even tried firing it with starting fluid which i hate but figured id try it still nothing but a lot of fuel. i started thinking maybe i have a vaccum leak or a leaking injector. the best way i could think of to check the injector was to prime the lines and use pinch off pliers to clamp the feed and return lines. it seemed to hold pressure fine. it did leak VERY slowly but im sure the lines werent completley pinched. if anyone has a better way to do this let me know. i havent check the tps sensor values and am not sure how i can check for a vaccum leak if i cant get it to run. any ideas im out and my usual rotory tuner has yet to return my call. any questions just ask i need some help on this one.

Might want to change the oil. If you are having really bad flooding problems in the housings it will dilute the oil and will be circulated right back in the housings when trying to start it. I also think that it may have an affect on how your rotors seal around the apex's. Also take your battery and alternator to get checked and make sure that they are putting out the proper voltage, check your coils too. Maybe a leaking injector, I think that that is what is happening with mine. I am having the exact same problem and so far I have replaced the battery, I am rebuilding the alternator, new coils on the way, plugs and wires, fuel filter, and all low mileage stock injectors and the rubber gromets that seat them( a couple were just trashed). In addition I have also changed the oil, checked the tps and map sensor. good luck. If you figure things out let me know.

P.S. So I don't scare you, I was having other problems before flooding issues so yours prolly isn't as severe. But now my car is doing exactly as you describe. My car also has 138xxx miles on it so things were starting to go.

forgot to mention i changed the oil too due to fuel contamination. battery is brand new alternator should be fine...coils check out also. lol im not sure how many miles are on the motor in mine but at last check compression was in spec alittle on the low side but in spec. odometer said 113 000 but the motor definatley is not original. oh thats a new issue that i just noticed now the odometer isnt there, the back lighting is but not the numbers. i havent driven it since the compression test except around the block to keep her from rotting.

id really like to find a good way to check the injectors. with the aftermarket rails they are pressure fit not clipped in so if i pull the rails theyll just shoot out. i guess i could zip tie them in ill have to look into that in the morning.
